To Fire Safety Educators:

Included within the Poster Contest Tab are the Information and Rules for the Massachusetts Fire Prevention Poster Contest for all students in grades 6-8.  All posters should be delivered to MPIUA (see Rules for address) where both County and Statewide judging will be held.

All County entries should be received by the second Monday in March. All entries will be separated by County and a First and Second place winner will be chosen from each County that participates. All First place County winners will be entered into the Statewide contest, from which First, Second and Third place winners will be chosen.

To those of you who were involved last year, we extend our sincere thanks. We ask those of you who were unable to become involved last year to please make every effort to participate this year. Our goal is to have the participation of every County in the State of Massachusetts.

Any fire department that is active in and helps promote the contest, and whose town has a First, Second or Third place winning poster in the STATEWIDE contest, may be granted a check in the amount of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000, respectively, to be used for any equipment, materials, education, research and prevention efforts relative to fire prevention/education initiative.

Included in this site is the entire set of updated material- please read carefully as some information has changed

  1. Contest Rules
  2. Judging Criteria
  3. Poster Information Form – this information must be provided on back of each poster.
